ABOUT
Southern Seabird Trust is a charitable trust. We work with commercial and recreational fishers, associated agencies and industry to reduce harm to New Zealand seabirds from fishing. Our work is also international. We deliver projects that contribute to reducing the effects of fishing on seabirds in fisheries in the Southern Hemisphere.
Our organisation is an innovative alliance between government, environmental and seafood industry organisations. Our people are fishers, scientists, government and business leaders, and ecologists. Our motto, conservation through cooperation, expresses our desire to empower fishers using a cooperative and practical approach to seabird conservation.
THE
VISION
All fishers in the Southern hemisphere avoid the capture of seabirds.
